Electronics and e-waste recycling
E-waste is the fastest growing waste stream in the country, and it's banned from landfill in a growing number of jurisdictions. We recover the metals and destroy the data.
What we take
Desktops, laptops, servers and racks, switches and routers, UPS units, monitors, printers and copiers, phone systems, network and power cable, circuit boards, and the general contents of a decommissioned comms room.
Batteries and anything containing refrigerant need to be flagged before collection so they can be handled separately, but they don't stop us taking the rest.
Data-bearing devices
Any device that has held data is treated as sensitive by default. Drives and storage media are physically destroyed, and you receive a certificate listing what was destroyed and when. Chain of custody is documented from the moment we take possession.
If your obligations require it, you're welcome to witness the destruction. Plenty of clients do, particularly the first time.
Why it matters
A tonne of circuit boards contains more recoverable precious metal than a tonne of ore from most mines. Sending it to landfill throws that away and puts heavy metals into the ground at the same time. Recovering it beats burying it on both counts.
