What we accept
We buy all types of metal scrap arising from manufacturing processes, scrap dealers, metal collectors and waste streams, alongside commercial paper, cardboard and plastic.
Working out what you have
Most people aren't, and that's fine. A magnet answers the first question: if it sticks, you're looking at a ferrous metal like steel or cast iron. If it doesn't, it's non-ferrous and worth considerably more per kilo.
Beyond that, send us a photo. Our team can identify almost anything from a clear picture, and it saves you loading a trailer with something we'd have to turn away.
Why separation pays
A load of clean, separated copper is worth a multiple of the same copper buried inside a mixed steel load. Once material is mixed, it has to be graded down to the lowest common denominator, because that's the only grade we can guarantee to the mill.
This is the whole reason we offer separated collection bins and onsite processing to regular customers. Getting the separation right at the source is worth more to you than any negotiation at the weighbridge.
