End-of-life vehicles

A car is roughly three quarters recoverable metal. We take end-of-life vehicles in any condition, drained, depolluted and processed to environmental standards, with the paperwork done properly.

Any condition, running or not

Cars, utes, vans, light trucks, motorcycles, trailers, caravan chassis, tractors and small plant. Wrecked, flooded, burnt out, unregistered or simply too expensive to keep on the road. If it's made of metal and it isn't going anywhere, we'll take it.

Most vehicles qualify for free pickup within our service area. Outside it, there's usually still a way to make it work, so it's worth asking.

What we need from you

Photo identification, and proof that you're entitled to dispose of the vehicle. That's normally the registration papers or a bill of sale in your name. We're required to record the VIN and to check the vehicle isn't recorded as stolen before we can accept it.

You'll also need to cancel the registration and return the plates to Service NSW yourself. We can't do that part for you, and doing it promptly stops the rego liability sitting with you after the car has gone.

What happens next

Every vehicle is depolluted before processing. Fuel, oil, coolant, brake fluid and refrigerant gas are drained and captured, the battery and tyres are removed, and the catalytic converter is recovered separately. Only then does the shell go through the shear.

The recovered steel goes to mills for remelting. The non-ferrous fraction, mostly aluminium and copper, is separated downstream and sold into its own markets.
